assignment/short description
A new inland port along the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal (DEK) has been projected at km 176,6 between the towns of Haren and Meppen. The cross-section changes at the location of the port entrance are expected to affect the hydraulic and morphological conditions which inherently will affect the nautical conditions. Deltares was commissioned to analyse the technical feasibility of the projected entrance channel design and, if necessary, to optimise this design.
