assignment/short description
In the period from September 2002 to September 2003 Deltares (formerly WL | Delft Hydraulics), together with MARIN (Wageningen) and Risk Support Ltd. (London) have carried out a comprehensive study into the navigational safety of the shipment of LNG to a terminal inside the Ria de Ferrol in Galicia, Spain, for vessels up to 140,500 m3.
In 2008 and 2009, this study was extended to include a safety analysis for the acceptance of LNGcarriers at the terminal with larger sizes than those considered in the initial study. Both studies havebeen carried out together with MARIN. In the 2009 study, also Eindhoven University of Technologycontributed with detailed wind modelling of the area.
