assignment/short description
Maasvlakte 2 is a large land reclamation that is made for the Port of Rotterdam. The Port of Rotterdam Authority awarded the joint venture PUMA the contract to design, construct and maintain the Maasvlakte 2. Deltares | Delft Hydraulics was asked by PUMA to carry out physical model tests. The results of these tests are used for the optimization and verification of the sea defence. The innovative sea defences were tested extensively at large scale in the Delta Flume and at small scale in the Scheldt Flume.
