Facility for Global assessment of hydrological effects of climate change
assignment/short description
Various global climate models predict changes in temperature, evaporation and precipitation for the entire world. Data of twelve different climate models was input in a global hydrological model (implemented in FEWS) to assess the impact of climate change on hydrology for the next century. Although differences between models are substantial, the results show clear that availability of water will increase in certain areas (arctic, southeast Asia) and decrease in other areas (Southern Europe, Australia, large parts of Africa and the South-West Coast of South America).
