Planning and managing coastal developments require a continuous flow of information to decision-makers. Environmental assessments have become a useful process for acquiring, analyzing and reporting the facts and understanding about the natural environment.

At Deltares we recommend to think through each specific management and development question and to design an environmental assessment process to fit the need and the time and resources available. This systematic approach requires scientific understanding to predict the impacts of alternative development strategies and practices.

The strength of Deltares continues to be founded on its multidisciplinary approach, as well as the close interaction with the planning and management process. We carry out dedicated environmental assessments to full-blown and detailed EIA studies.
