Introductory Delft-FEWS configuration course

Background

More and more consultants in the UK and the Netherlands are involved in projects where Delft-FEWS is being applied. To offer these consultants the opportunity to get to know Delft-FEWS Deltares  manage two courses: a two day introductory Configuration Course, followed by a two day advanced Configuration Course. Both courses will be held at the premises of Deltares, location Rotterdamseweg in Delft.

Introductory Configuration Course

The first day of the course will be dedicated to getting familiar with the concept of Delft-FEWS and to get an overview of a basic Delft-FEWS configuration. The available tools will be explained by means of exercises.

The second day will focus on data management. Furthermore you will learn how to set-up different work flows and which modules are available within Delft-FEWS.

After this course you will be familiar with the concept of Delft-FEWS and you will be able to make simple changes to an existing Delft-FEWS configuration.

Advanced Configuration Course

The advanced course is managed on consultants that would like to work more independently from Deltares. Delft-FEWS can be used effectively both in simple forecasting systems.

During the course you will learn how to set-up a configuration for a basic system and how to include external models in Delft-FEWS.

After the advanced course you will be able to set-up and adjust a basic Delft-FEWS configuration, including external models. However, it is expected that you will still need assistance from more experienced Delft-FEWS users to set up a complex system.
